Meet the Speakers

Daniel LaBelle — Talent Acquisition Manager, Brown University

Daniel LaBelle prides himself on being a valuable resource for both candidates and hiring managers throughout the hiring process. He enjoys connecting with individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and providing them with the support they need to successfully transition into a new and exciting opportunity. Creative collaboration and developing meaningful relationships are his passions. Since 2019, he has helped talented professionals land their dream job in a variety of fields, including research, sales, marketing, procurement, nursing, compensation, finance, and grants management. Over the past 3+ years, he has worked with hiring managers at Brown University to connect candidates to amazing opportunities in higher education.

Josh Tefft — Assistant Career Center Manager, MassHire Cape and Islands Career Center

Josh Tefft currently serves as the Assistant Career Center Manager at the MassHire Cape and Islands Career Center in Hyannis, MA. Before his career pivot into workforce development, he spent 17 years in higher education enrollment management, serving in transfer admissions at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, as Director of Admissions at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and graduate lead generation and consulting.

Jennifer O’Neill — Director of Programs and Research, Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC)

Jennifer O’Neill (she/her/hers) is the Director of Programs and Research at the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC). She leads HERC’s workforce research and programming, including the annual HERC Higher Education Workforce Survey, with a focus on retention, career mobility, job-search behavior, and the experiences shaping higher education careers. An applied sociologist with nearly two decades of higher education experience spanning faculty, staff, and governance roles, Jennifer connects national workforce trends with firsthand insight into the realities of navigating a career in higher education.

A conference for higher ed professionals navigating institutional change and personal transition — co-hosted by HENC and You Are HigherED! Two days of work that matters: a VIP Leadership Experience on Day 1, followed by a full conference on Day 2 with Entrepreneurial and Institutional tracks, breakout sessions, and 1:1 consultations with coaches.
