About
Karla is currently the Associate Director of Admissions at St. George’s University School of Medicine (SGU). Karla’s interest in working in higher education originated from her passion for promoting education and social justice. As a first-generation college student, she is driven by the idea that knowledge is power. In her current role at SGU, she is responsible for fostering relationships with students, pre-med advisors, career development offices and student clubs/organizations in an effort to promote the institution. She also plays a key role in collaborating with the marketing, communication and branding teams as well as the Alumni Department for more efficient recruitment strategies. She is also part of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Her previous roles include Director of Enrollment and Recruitment for Hult International Business School and Assistant Director of Admissions at MCPHS and Pine Manor College
